While both manufactured homes and modular homes are built in a factory environment, there are some differences between the two. The main source of difference between modular and manufactured homes is the code to which they are built.

All of Texas is considered Windzone I with the exception of the following counties: Arkansas, Brazoria, Calhoun, Cameron, Chambers, Galveston, Jefferson, & Kennedy.  This means they are rated for 100mph winds where as Windzone I has no equivalent MPH rating.   If you bought a Windzone 1 you couldn't put it into a Windzone II like the counties mentioned above however, you can put a Windzone II in a Windzone I area.
